LISD Board Holds First Superintendent Search Special Meeting
On Wednesday, Nov. 19, the Lewisville ISD (LISD) Board of Trustees held its first in a series of special meetings to discuss next steps in the superintendent search process. During this meeting, the Board formally accepted Superintendent Dr. Stephen F. Waddell’s letter of retirement, effective Jan. 31, 2015.

Move Out! Marcus High School Hosts 27th Annual Student Council Friendship Dinner
Marcus High School (MHS) hosted the 27th annual Lewisville ISD (LISD) Student Council Friendship Dinner, a social event that brings all LISD Student Council members together for a special night of dinner, games, reflection and team-building. Student Council members from all five LISD high schools – Flower Mound (FMHS), Hebron High School (HHS), Lewisville (LHS), MHS and The Colony (TCHS) – participated in the event.
LISD’s 1:X Initiative Receives International Recognition
Apple recently named Lewisville ISD’s (LISD) 1:X™ initiative as an Apple Distinguished Program for 2014-2016, a two-year designation. With a 30-year history of investing in creative approaches to education, Apple’s Distinguished Program award recipients are recognized internationally for setting the bar for high-quality, innovative education programs. Apple qualifies the award as non-competitive. LISD has researched past recipients of this award and there has been approximately three Texas Apple Distinguished Programs since 2007.
