Scholarship information for Juniors

This announcement is for Juniors only!!!
Juniors have the opportunity to take the ACT one time paid for by LISD either this Spring or next Fall. The Spring dates are April 12 or June 14. Remember that LISD will only pay for one date and pay only the basic $30 fee. If you want the writing test, you'll need to bring a $14.50 check made payable to ACT Registration. The applications are available on the table in the hallway by the Counseling Office. TCHS Deadline is Friday, Feb. 29 at noon, no exceptions.
(Remember, if LISD has paid for your exam and you did not show up to take it, you may be asked to reimburse the district the $30 registration fee.) Click here for Registration Procedures.

Are You a Helicopter Parent? Take the Quiz

The Colony High School will be participating in National Testing Day through the Princeton Review. We will host a free practice SAT, ACT, and PRA (SAT and ACT test combined) exams. On National Testing Day - April 28th from 9 AM to 1 PM, students can take a stress-free, fear-free, and just plain FREE practice SAT, ACT, or if unsure, the PRA (Princeton Review Assessment) which includes elements of both the SAT and ACT to predict the right test for them. The Princeton Review will then provide detailed reports to help students find their strengths, and then raise their scores. Stop by the counselor's office to fill out your registration form.

 

"Maverick Promise"

The University of Texas at Arlington has announced a new financial aid package that will guarantee free tuition for undergraduate Texas residents with a family income of $25,000 or less.  This is called the "Maverick Promise" and will become effective beginning fall 2007.  Come by the Counseling Office for a hand-out on this new offer from UTA.

 

"The Red Raider Guarantee "

Texas Tech will guarantee tuition and mandatory fees for the average course load for all new freshman students from Texas whose family's adjusted gross income does not exceed $40,000. The plan will go into effect for the fall 2007 semester.
