Going to the nurse's office:

  • Students need a pass from their teacher to visit the nurse.
  • To go home ill, parents must be called from nurse's office.
  • Students should never call parents from classroom or cell phone during school hours.
  • For attendance purposes, students should always sign in and out when leaving or returning to school.

Some reasons to keep your student home:

  • Fever of 100.4 or higher
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Green discharge from eyes

Medication Policies:

  • Students may carry over the counter medicines in the original container with a note from parents.
  • Prescription medications must be brought to the nurse with a note from parents. Students may carry non-narcotic prescriptions once approved by the nurse. They must be in the original container.
  • Asthma inhalers may be carried by students when the proper form has been filled out. The form to be completed is the Lewisville ISD Medication Self-Carry Agreement.
